Jirgatal district

Jirgatal area district of Republican Subordination in Tajikistan.

It was formed March 10, 1931 in the Garm region of the Tajik SSR. The regional center - the settlement of urban type Jirgatol, located on the banks of the river Surkhob to 284 km from Dushanbe.

Geography

Jirgatal district is located in the Rasht Valley. It has borders with Batken region of Kyrgyzstan in the west - Rasht, on the south - and Tajikabad Tavildara area in the east - from the Chon-Alay district of Osh region of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Murghab district of Badakhshan.

Territory Jirgatal area of 4.6 sq.km.
