Vahdat District

Vahdat District district of Republican Subordination in Tajikistan.

Formed September 17, 1927 as Yangi Bazarsky area in April 1936, renamed Ordzhenikidzeabad.

Decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Tajik SSR № 476 of December 25, 1991 renamed Kofarnikhon area. Resolution of Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan № 389 of April 7, 2003 renamed Vahdat district.

The regional center - the city of Vahdat, located 21 km west of Dushanbe.

Geography

Vahdat district is located in Hissar Valley, adjacent to the eastern border city of Dushanbe. In Romit gorge, which is part Vahdat district, there are numerous tourist camps, homes and recreation, mineral and sulfur springs.

It has borders with Aini district Sogd in the west - from Rasht, Nurobodskim Rogun and Faizabad district in the east - with Rudakinskim RRS, in the south - Norakskim and Javanese district of Khatlon region of Tajikistan.

Vahdat District in the north-east to south-west crosses the river Kafirnigan.
