Istaravshan city in Sughd area Tajikistan, the district administrative center Istaravshan.

Geography

History

Istaravshan is one of the oldest cities in Tajikistan. The history of the city has more than 2,500 years. The town was first called "Uroteppa" is mentioned in the Tajik historian Abdurazzak Samarkand (1413-1482).
