Torsonzade Mirzo [p. 19.4 (2.5) .1911, village Karatag now Regarskogo area], the Tajik Soviet writer and public figure, the national poet of Tajikistan (1961), Academician of the Tajik SSR (1951), Hero of Socialist Labor (1967). CPSU member since 1941. A member of the Communist Party of the Tajik SSR (1946). Published since 1930. The first collection of poems, "The Banner of Victory," published in 1932. The poem "creators" (1934), the play "The sentence" (1935), the poem "Sun Country" (1936), "Autumn and Spring" (1937) brought T. recognition, his poetry is realistic, but it is characterized by the romantic excitement, emotion and aphoristic, coming from the classical oriental and folk poetry. In 1939 came a collection of "Poems," which sounded the theme of Soviet patriotism and proletarian internationalism and the struggle with the international response. Poem "For the Motherland!" (1941, with A. dehot) and "Son of the Motherland" (1942) have thought about the war and moral unity of the peoples of the USSR. In the 2nd half of the 40's and 50's. created: the poem "The Bride of Moscow" (1945), the cycles of "Indian Ballad" (1947-48, USSR State Prize, 1948) and "I'm from the East free" (1950), the poem "Hasan arbakesh" (1954), " Voice of Asia "(1956, both poems were awarded the Lenin Prize, 1960)," Eternal Light "(1957). Poem "My dear" (1960) - reflections on the individual and society, the civic ideals and beliefs. The poem "From the Ganges to the Kremlin" (1970) recreates the image of Lenin and the Leninist theme relates to the origins of the national liberation movement of the East. T. - author of several works of literary criticism: "Thoughts on Civil lyric" (1954), "Literature and Life" (1959) and others writings of T. are translated into many languages.
